The X-15 If Hitler and his inner circle was competent and not a bunch of nuts, World War II could have ended not necessarily in our favor. Germany had the best scientist and was ahead of every other country in the world in military weapons development. But their leadership did not know how to manage these projects or give priority to the projects when they needed them.
The bombers, fighters, and smart bombs that the US Government has today started with German scientist under Nazi control. At the end of the war, Germany had over 250 types of missiles under development.
They had a jet fighters and rocket plane in operation. This rocket plane was the father of the X-15 rocket plane. The X-15 is the father of the US Space Shuttle.
